As of late, turmeric has been sneaking it into all of my sweet concoctions. From smoothie bowls like this one I posted to my Nom channel, to morning pancakes, and fresh juices - you name it, I'll turmeric it! With the sunshine recently chasing away the west coast rain, we've been finding ourselves reaching more and more for a chilly drink to cool us after a long day at work. While I'm always partial for a smoothie bowl thick as ice cream, Adam thinks they're pretty much awful and is more into drinking his drinks rather than eating them with a spoon (go figure).
This is my take on a happy medium. It's rich and creamy with out being too thick, and is perfectly drinkable though a straw. I kind of consider it a lazy woman's version of my Raw Milk Shake Love (also, why on earth did I post a milkshake recipe in February? Jeez 2014 me!), as the only preplanning you need to do is the soaking of nuts. An easy way to make this stress-free is to soak a handful of nuts in the fridge the night before. They will last for a couple of days if you don't get to them asap, so no worries.
Also, I'll be posting a Weekend Chill recipe every weekend this summer! Any excuse to get that cute Popsicle mould, am I right? Anyways, keep your eyes peeled for some of my favourite easy ways to cool and chill out (think popsicles, ice creams, smoothies, and juices here...and maybe some surprises). Stay cool, friends!
Weekend Links + Loves
- Renee's You Tube Channel is blossoming and I loved this video - primarily 'cause I'm nosey as heck and could never commit to doing this myself.
- During a night of insomnia, I ordered this pan off Amazon and later thought I'd regret it. Fact is, I love it! Made these with it and covered them in cinnamon sugar. Soooo good, you guys! So good!
- Need to brush up my sewing skills, because I think these overalls in black would be ever so cute and practical to make.
- Speaking of making things, I am desperate to make this ice cream that Lindsay made from Virpi + and Tuulia's book.

Yum....I made a modified version, added a bit less almond milk, 2/3 frozen banana, 1 medjool date, tbsp of hemp seeds, 2 ice cubes. Version 1 is awesome, and this one a bit more decadent ?
