Awhile ago my friend Sasha shared her monthly intentions on Insta, and since then I've been making my own list of things I want to address each and every month. I'm kicking this month off by sharing my intentions and a free printable PDF where you can write down your own. I find this practice to be reflexive and grounding. It opens my eyes up to new opportunities and desires, helping me put into words things I want to work on in my day to day life. I hope you enjoy this practice as much as I do!
MARCH INTENTIONS
DO MORE - Things that frighten me. Naturally I'm a bit of a risk taker, but as of late I've gotten in a rut where when it comes to new things I've steered clear of them. This month though, I'm committed to doing things that make me a little frightened. The first step this month will be food styling a friends cookbook on my own!
TAKE TIME TO- Be creative! I work two other jobs besides working on this site, so sometime I get stuck only being creative along the lines of food and food photography. This month I want to try harder to paint more often, or work with my hands more.
LET GO OF- Things that don't serve me! Self doubt is a big one for me. You probably wouldn't know but there are a ton if recipes or photos I don't share because I agonize over them not being good enough. I live in a small house with just one usable window to shoot with (under the kitchen sink) so I often make excuses as to why my photos don't work. But when it comes down to it, I'm sure nobody is as judgemental as me about my work.
WORK ON- Being m0re organized. Let's just say, you don't want to see how many icons are on my desktop.
TRY NEW- Ways of exercising! I live in a very yoga centric area of town (actually a couple blocks from where Lulu Lemon began), so I often feel daunted by the idea of going to a yoga studio where everyone is a master. This month I need to break the routine of doing yoga videos at home and take a class a couple times a week.
