This vegan strawberry banana peanut butter smoothie is packed with sweet berries, ripe banana, and salty peanut butter! It makes the best quick breakfast or afternoon snack, with extra protein from the nut butter.

Ingredient Notes and Substitutions
- Strawberries: frozen berries are easiest, but fresh are great too! Make sure your other ingredients are chilled, or use a frozen banana, if using fresh strawberries.
- Peanut butter: choose a peanut butter that lists just peanuts and salt on the ingredient list (or use unsalted nut butter). Use sunbutter for a nut-free option.
- Milk: this can be any kind you like. I usually use a homemade nut milk.
- Spices: these can be left out if you prefer, but the cinnamon and vanilla mix is perfect.
Make Your Strawberry Smoothie
Step 1: add all ingredients to a blender, high-powered if you have it.
Step 2: blend on high speed until completely smooth and serve.
- Use ripe fruit: the riper the banana, the sweeter the smoothie will be. If your bananas are still bright yellow, add a date to the mix.
- Add a pinch of salt: this is optional, but really ups the peanut butter taste. You can leave the salt out if your nut butter is salted.
- Add a strawberry swirl: I added a swirl of yogurt and topped with extra peanut butter, but some strawberry compote at the bottom of the glass would be *perfect*.
How to Store
Storage: the smoothie can be refrigerated for a few hours, but will discolour over time because of the banana, so it's best served fresh.
Do you need ice in a smoothie?
While smoothies often use ice, this recipe is made with frozen berries, so the ice is built in! No need to add any extra.

Strawberry Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie
- 1 cup non-dairy milk
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- ½ frozen banana
- 2 teaspoons peanut butter
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch cinnamon
- Pinch salt if peanut butter isn't salted
- Add all of the ingredients to a blender and mix on high speed until very smooth.1 cup non-dairy milk, 1 cup frozen strawberries, ½ frozen banana, 2 teaspoons peanut butter, ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract, Pinch cinnamon, Pinch salt
- Add a dollop of yogurt to the bottom of a glass and pour the smoothie into the glass. Top with extra peanut butter and serve immediately.
